Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question that isn’t answered elsewhere on our website? Below is a list of some of the questions most frequently asked of our office staff and teachers. We hope to save you time and frustration with our handy Q and A. If you continue to have questions, please give us a call!

What is the dress code at George Gervin Prep Academy?

We follow a general dress code principle. “We believe that all students have the right to a safe, healthy school environment. We believe that all students have the responsibility to dress appropriately and observe basic standards of cleanliness and good grooming. A student’s dress and appearance should not cause disruption, distract from the educational process, or create a health or safety concern for himself or others. Administrators have the final authority to determine when personal appearance and dress do not meet school standards and also have the authority to take appropriate action.”

Parents and guardians may purchase uniform attire from French Toast or another store that offers the same color and style listed in our written uniform policy. You can view our dress code and uniform policy, on our Uniform Policy page.

Can my child bring a cell phone to school?

Administration understands that cell phones are valuable tools for student security and parental contact for emergencies; however, the use of cell phones during class time is disruptive to the educational process. Although we do not prohibit cell phones from the campus, no one on campus should see, hear, or use a cell phone during any class period. Students should keep their cell phone in their backpack for the duration of the school day. Violations of this rule will result in disciplinary action.
